Met a beautiful Artist today

I have had the rare and wonderful opportunity today to meet the young artist, Akiane.
Her works were displayed today, and she had traveled with her father to be here for the opening day.
She is thirteen years old. She is a gifted artist and writer, and gentle and humble.
Her art is so moving, that it is hard to comprehend that a young girl held the paintbrush. God is working with her and through her.
She paints every day, for four hours, early in the morning. She wants to share God's love and light.
I was able to talk to her for a few minutes, and Akiana is so kind and unassuming. Some of her work sells for over 100,000, and she is as unaffected and humble as you would expect the Lord Himself to be. I have been richly blessed today. You can read more about Akiane through...

Autumns Jewels


She steps in as a lively showgirl,
extinguishing summer's youthful glow.
With a twist and a glide
of her jeweled spiked heel,
she slides into place.
She's a pro.
Autumn has arrived,
sultry, smoky, and brazen...
leaving us breathless,
reveling in our praise,
and sighs of pleasure.
She knows how to cause a stir,
and lives for drama.
She knows her stuff, draping us with her golden threads,
stunning, in rusts, and ruddy hues,
organic tones of earthy browns.
She can't go wrong.
Red, being her trademark,
in shimmering silks, and textured velvets.
we adore her, want to touch her, caress her.
Even as she makes her exit,
she's a natural, a wonder.
We will wait again and again,
for the next regal entrance,
of our beloved Autumn.

Reccomending a Great Book

I didn't want this book to end, but I couldn't set the book down to stop reading, either...
Khaled Hosseini's latest book, A Thousand Splendid Suns,
was worth staying up for all hours, a thousand thank yous to this man.
I am a devoted reader of this sensitive and knowledgeable
author. His first book, The Kite Runner, was a fascinating and heartfelt read. It's always a risk to delve into the second book, after being so touched and enthralled by an authors first published novel. What a feat! Both books are excellent.
I appreciate an author who really pulls me into his story, this latest one takes place in war torn Afghanistan. Hosseini's original homeland) T he relationships, and cultural differences are woven deftly, and intricately into this well told story. Reading A Thousand Splendid Suns opens your eyes wider, to the trials of millions of displaced people, and the hardship of men, and especially the repression women in the middle East. I should be so inclined to kiss the soil of my country after this. The rich bonds between the women in this book, makes me long for a simpler less distracted life. I am so glad that the author has decide to share his words with the world. Hosseini has been devoting his life to people in Africa as well as the Middle East. His bio can be found at
